The Business Case for Planning Ahead
An unplanned office move can cost a business more in lost productivity than the entire moving cost itself. The Three-Phase Approach
Phase 1 — Assessment (4–6 weeks before): Map your current office layout and your new one. Identify IT infrastructure requirements — server room, network cabling, power points. Plan seating assignments at the new location before moving day, not after.
Phase 2 — Preparation (2–4 weeks before): Label all equipment with destination desk numbers at the new location. Create an IT migration plan with your IT team or vendor. Notify employees, clients, and vendors of the move date and new address. Arrange building management access at both ends.
